Adult child does not live with me

I have an adult child 29 years old who is a full time student in another state. I pay her expenses. Turbo Tax is saying I can claim her as a dependent but I don't think that is true. I suspect a bug in the 2024 desktop software. Am I correct?

You can claim her if you pay for more than 50% of her support and she did not earn more than $5050 in 2024?   A child does not have to live with you for more than half the year for you to claim them.    See this TurboTax FAQ
