Advanced child tax credit on dependent return

My dependent received income for the first time. When completing the tax return, turbo tax prompted me to input the advance child tax credit received on my dependents return. Is there a reason for having to do this when dependent is claimed on my return and I reported the ADTC on my return?

Be sure that the box in his return was checked saying that he is claimed on someone else’s return. Since he received no advanced child tax credit himself answer zero.

Enter 0 on your son's return for payment received. Everyone will have to answer the questions in regards to the Child Tax Credit form.
