Alabama State Taxes. My form defaults to itemized deductions even though the standard deduction would give me a higher deduction. I have selected standard deduction on my federal taxes.
How do I change from itemized to standard deduction on the Alabama form in TurboTax?
If you chose to take the standard deduction on your federal return and you want the same on your Alabama return, you must go back to the federal section of TurboTax and remove the entries for the Itemized deductions. Unfortunately, you cannot make the adjustment or change for the Alabama state deduction.
