What form do I use to amend a return? My charitable donations of almost $6000 through rmd were not reported correctly

The form will be a 1040X. Here is a link to guide you through the process. Generally, you will need to print/download a copy of your original return as some information from that version will be need to complete the amendment. Then you will go back to the area where you need to make changes; IRA, pensions... 1099R for you. Make the changes and then you will be prompted for entries to show and explain the changes made. Finally, you will go through the filing process for the amended return.
