Are not living in home due to health problems. Trying to claim property taxes paid but not accepting zero months lived there. How do we enter this?

Property tax entry does not ask how many months you lived in the home because, unlike mortgage interest, you have no restrictions on this deduction.

Do not enter it in the mortgage interest section just to be sure this isn't the issue.  Use the steps below to enter your real estate property taxes.

You can go directly to the area to enter your information.  

1. Sign into your TurboTax account. (online or desktop)

2. In the search box, upper right

3. Search for property taxes

4. Jump to property taxes (use the images attached for assistance)

5. Enter your taxes paid on your main home and any other property tax paid in the second slot.
