Are over-the-counter meds qualified medical expenses? I take a couple doctor-recommended medications each day and pay for them out of my own pocket.

No.  Over the counter meds do not count as qualified medical expenses. 

 

"Except for insulin, you can't include in medical expenses amounts you pay for a drug that isn't prescribed. A prescribed drug is one that requires a prescription by a doctor for its use by an individual."  Pub 502
