Attending a conference... what is tax deductible

I work for a Local government recreation and parks department...

If I were to travel for state or local rec and parks conferences... are the conference fees, travel expenses airfare gas , rental , meals... are they tax deductible?

Since you are an employee and receive a W-2 then none of your employee business expenses are deductible on a federal tax return due to the tax code changes in effect for tax years 2018 thru 2025

it would seem that you get a w-2 which would make all these expenses employee business expenses. federal tax laws treat them as personal expenses and so would not be deductible for all years through 2025.
