Automobile Vandalism Repair
I am self-employed (sole proprietorship) and use the standard mileage deduction for my vehicles. On a recent business trip out of state, my car was vandalized (rear window was shot out in the parking lot). My feeling is that the repair cost (minus insurance payout) should be deductible since the entire trip was in pursuit of business, and the repairs are not part of routine maintenance...does that sound right?
