Big difference in state and local taxes from 2018 to 2019

I am a New York resident. I completed all the deductions for 2019 and there is a big difference in the above line item for this year. Last year it was zero, this year is is -$7,759. Only up to $10,000 can be deducted. I compared both returns and all entries made and I can't figure it out. Wondering if anyone has an idea? Thanks.

So, to be clear, we are talking about state and local taxes on Schedule A, Itemized Deductions? Remember that we in the Community cannot see your tax return nor the screen you are on.

Are you saying that you paid zero New York State and New York City tax in 2018? And was the number of the same for 2019 really a negative number?

    Please clarify.
