I have the Dependent care benefits in box 10 with a dollar amount, but I did not pay or contribute to child care. I have one child in grade school and single. Do I need to put that amount in there or would I need my return amended?

You have to enter your W-2 as it appears.  If you did not use the pre-tax money for childcare, then it becomes taxable income.

Thank you so much! so would i need to include the amount in my taxable income? Would i still need the 2441 form?

No, you do NOT need the 2441 form since you did not pay a childcare provider.   You have no reason to use that form.   You do not do any fancy footwork with the W-2-----just enter it as it appears.
