Question

"Box 3-Mortgage origination date" needs a date in it in order for me to finish my taxes. I did not take out a loan for my house. How can I finish and satisfy this box?

How can I satisfy "Box 3-Mortgage origination date" needs a date in it in order for me to finish my taxes.  I did not take out a loan for my house.  How can I finish and satisfy this box?

This box is asking for information from your Form 1098. Did you receive one of these forms? 

If not, I would go back to this section and make sure there isn't an incomplete entry that is prompting these questions.

1.) Federal

2.) Deductions and Credits

3.) Your Home

4.) Mortgage Interest, Refinancing, and Insurance (Form 1098) 

On the screen that says Review Your 1098 Info, you will be able to edit/delete your entries.
