Car was totaled and wanted to deduct taxes from loss of car

Was this your personal car-----not a car used for your self-employment?

 

Sorry....casualty losses are not deductible on your federal return unless the loss was incurred as a result of something that happened in a federal disaster area.

    A casualty or theft loss is not deductible on a federal tax return unless the loss occurred in a federally declared disaster area.
