Can I claim mortgage payments made on my behalf during a forbearance for Covid? I did not receive a 1098.

No.  You can't deduct mortgage interest that you didn't pay.

If you received the forbearance payments for your mortgage, you cannot claim mortgage interest on your tax return as you did not pay interest out of pocket.
