Can I deduct a qualifying relative's mortgage interest, medical insurance payments, etc. if I paid them?

No on the mortgage interest.  Yes on the health care expenses if they are your dependent.

No, A person can only deduct mortgage interest if you are the primary borrow, or you are legally obligated to pay the debt and actually make payments. You cannot deduct the interest unless you co-signed the loan.
