Yes, if you elect to deduct actual expenses rather than the standard deduction then you can claim a portion of your car insurance. The actual car expense deduction includes car insurance, payments, and depreciation. It also includes your repairs and maintenance and costs related to parking and vehicle registration. However, you deduct these expenses based on your business percentage of use.
