Can I just put the amount I paid for doctors in Schedule A without further categorizing it into lab fees, hospitals, etc? IRS form just has medical expenses?

I've looked through the other questions and found nothing or overlooked it.

Yes you can just enter the total.  Only the grand total goes to schedule A.
