Yes,  travel costs and motel stay to get medical treatment are generally deductible as a medical expense if they're needed to reach a medical treatment facility. These include travel costs to a doctor's office, hospital, or clinic where you, your spouse, or dependents receive medical care.

 

You would deduct your medical expenses as an itemized deduction on Schedule A. Only medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of your gross adjusted income are deductible.  If you do not itemize you cannot deduct the payments.
