Can I write off car repairs due to obstruction in the road that were paid out of pocket?

I had an accident on Friday the 2019, it ended up messing up my right axle, bent frame, catalytic converter damaged and possible ac compresser that had to pay out of pocket. Can this be used to get more back on my taxes considering it was almost 8,000 dollars

no deduction.  did you check with your insurance company?       if it's covered by insurance, under the best of circumstances, you are self-employed and used the vehicle in business, the IRS does not let you deduct casualty losses covered by insurance.

if not, self-employed there would still be no deduction because this would be a casualty loss.  They are no longer deductible even if not covered by insurance.
