Can "principal/physical address be a mailbox address?

I have been using a mailbox for tax filing for many years. Over those years, I have moved around several apartments and then bought a house. But I continue to use the mailbox because it's safer and I like the consistency.

TT asks for principal/physical address information. But it seems to allow PO Box. So can I use the mailbox address or does it have to be where I live?

The address entered in the Personal Info section of your return will be shown on the top of your Form 1040 and can be a post office box.  This should be your mailing address since any IRS correspondence would go to that address.

There are certain places where a physical address is required, such as when claiming a home energy credit.
