Can't Import ItsDeductible

When I try to import my ItsDeductible data into Turbotax, the window for the ItsDeductible login pops up, but then I get the spinning circle of death.  I can't enter my User ID or my Password to login and import the data.  I can close the window and resume Turbotax, but I can't do the import.

I am having the same problem it must be a problem with the software program itself.  I hope they come up with a solution soon.

The best and most efficient way for you to connect with the right person to get the help you need is to select the version of TurboTax you are using and call us. We're open daily from 5 AM to 9 PM PT.

I did call, I was on the phone for two hours with one gal to no avail and called back after her last option of help was to reinstall the software, which I did and didn't help.  The second gal I got told me she was on the phone for an hour and a half with another customer with a Mac that had the same problem.  Her only suggestion for me was to call Apple so I did.  The support member told me to start the Mac up in safe mode and go through trying to put my password in and it took awhile to go through, but it finally did.  Don't know what safe mode had to do with it, but it worked.

Every year (Past 4) I have some problem trying to import from its deductible - As another user said what is the purpose of using the app if it won't work.  Is there another option on the mark?  I really don't understand why using software from the same providers there would be integration issues

@wjmancini Are you using a Windows computer or Mac?  Are you completing your tax return using TurboTax Online or the Download CD/Software?  Also, can you describe the particular issues you're experiencing?

I am getting a pop up window about allowing access to my login keychain passwords. When I type in the password we use it shakes it off and will not do anything other than spin the magic circle. Who can fix this?

as of today I am having this issue, when will the problem be resolved?

Call Apple support not Intuit.  I made the mistake of talking to someone at Intuit last year, I couldn't even understand and he ended up screwing up my Key chain.  I don't know why there is a problem with this every year pretty pathetic, but I end up calling Apple every year and sitting on the phone for quite awhile.  Almost ready to use another tax software.

Thank you. I'm having these problems with TurboTax 2022! I got a very nice CPA who knew nothing about why the app demands an iMac Monterey keychain password or how to find it.  My machine hangs every time I try to use do anything but put in data!  It will fetch the data from 2021, but I can't save without hanging!!  Knowing you had similar issues, i believe neither you nor I is crazy.

Omg that really just worked!  Had to type in my intuit code blind as well.  I guess it means that the screen is just not visible?

I actually noticed that several times if I changed the screen resolution while the window was open I could see the boxes, but was unable to type. This is a ridiculous glitch.

Come on TurboTax!!

Are you referring to your Mac's keychain password or your ItsDeductible account password?  @barges-Poztad11w

I worked my way through the issue of the program looking for the "Keychain password:.

  • I went into settings and passwords, and deleted any reference to "intuit".
  • Then I restarted my MAC.  (Don't know if necessary, but clears the cache)
  • I logged into computer
  • logged into Turbotax program
  • Logged into my INTUIT web account for ITsDeductible
  • In Turbotax, went to Charitable Donation and selected Import from ItsDeductible
  • When the password box came up, I entered my Computer password (Not the ItsDeductible password) and then clicked on Allow Always.
  • Now it took me to a new screen to enter my ItsDeductible User ID and password
  • It then downloaded by charitable giving from ItsDeductible to Turbotax.

I hope this helps someone else.

Thank you! It worked. Amazinf how much time I wasted on this, going around in circles. I sure hope they fix this. It was a real time suck. W

I'm adding on to a couple of earlier posts that helped me finally import my donations. Thanks again to those people who steered me in the right direction. TurboTax, PLEASE FIX THIS!

After you click "Yes" that you want to import your donations from ItsDeductible, a pop-up window (that's mostly blank will open). After the little circle stops spinning:

If you slowly move your cursor down, you will notice the "typing cursor" appears 3 times.

  • Skip the 1st place where the typing cursor appears.
  • Move the cursor to the 2nd place where the typing cursor appears. CLICK in this spot. Then type your ItsDeductible user name. You're doing this blind, so type carefully.
  • Move the cursor to the 3rd place where the typing cursor appears. CLICK in this spot. Then type your Its Deductible password. Again, you're doing this blind, so type carefully.
  • Hit the Enter key on your keyboard.
  • The cursor will turn into a hand. Click where this hand appears.

You will now receive the INTUIT code in your email or phone.

  • This time, there are 2 spots where the typing cursor appears.
  • Skip the first spot where the typing cursor appears
  • Move your cursor to the 2nd spot where the typing cursor appears and CLICK in this spot.
  • Type the INTUIT code you just received. If you're receiving this code by text, please do not type the phone number it is being texted from - the code you need will be a 6 digit number.
  • Click the Enter key on your keyboard.
  • Click where the hand appears.

If at anytime this doesn't seem to be working, you can go to your computer settings and change to a lower resolution. This will show you what the screen looks like but unfortunately you won't be able to type in it. Change the resolution back to normal, X out of the box, and click the back button to start the process again.

Thank you for the long and detailed resolution, I know this can assist others. @rpriester

Was an issue with my pi-hole setup. I tried pairing to my phone's internet and the transfer worked. Need to add some entries to the allowlist it seems.
