can we claim solar panels installed in 2023?

We did not claim an energy credit for solar panels installed in Feb. of 2023. Can I claim expenses in 2024. We are on a payment plan.

    The solar system that was completed in 2023 can only be entered on the 2023 tax return.  You enter the total cost of the system for the credit.  Your payments on a loan are not entered on the tax return.

    You will need to amend the 2023 tax return that was filed.
