Greetings,

We are planning on selling a home soon which will result in about $500k profit.

We've lived in the home for a couple years now (2020) but although I've maintained the home address in all of my documents, we also use an apartment in another town nearby, mainly during the weekdays for about 3 days/week.

As this was her previous address, we decided why not just leave all of info with that address and that is how it still is: drivers license, voting, etc

We do both file taxes as MFJ using the primary home address but I am concerned about how we are going to "prove" anything regarding her living location.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

You are selling your primary home. You don’t have to prove anything.
