I won a kayak in a raffle worth around $1400. I donated it to charity. When I entered this in TurboTax the program did not give me any value for the donation. What did I do wrong?

No, you did not enter anything wrong. You are not allowed to take a deduction for a charitable contribution made with a prize item. You have no basis in the item so unfortunately, you cannot take a deduction for the donation.
