I gave cash and stock to my church through Fidelity Charitable. How do I reflect this on my tax return?

Use these steps to go to the charitable donation section of your return:

    • On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
    • This opens a box where you can type in “charitable donation” (be sure to enter exactly as shown here) and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
    • The search results will give you an option to “Jump to charitable donation
    • Click on the blue “Jump to charitable donation” link and enter your information

After you have entered the charity name (your church), you will be asked what type of donation was made.  Here you will find the choices of items, money, stock, or mileage and travel expenses.  First, select the money option to enter the amount of your monetary donation.  Then, Add Another Donation and select stock to enter the details of your stock donation.
