I have a 2 year old and a current 7 month old who was born on December 19th 2020. I claimed both kids on my taxes this year but only received 300 for my child tax credit last week. Shouldn't I have received 600 for both kids? When I called IRS they were uncertain of an answer.

You should have received an advance for both. Eventually, you'll be able to fix this in the portal, but the feature isn't there yet. The IRS says adjustments to dependents will be in the portal later this summer.

It would be prudent to get an account set up there now, so you're ready to go when they add the feature you need.
