Hi Yeseniaf443, thank you for joining the "Ask the Experts: New Dependent" special forum today.
Understand that you are anxious to receive the Advance Child Tax Credit payments that is already started on 7/15/201.
There are a few things you can check:
1. Use the Eligibility Assistant to see if you qualify;
2. File your 2020 tax return, 2019 tax return, or use non-filer tool to let IRS know about your qualification;
3. Have you received IRS letter 6417 sent out in June to alert the upcoming Advanced Child Tax Credit?
Later this year, you should be able to use the Child Tax Credit Update Portal to update qualifying child information (not available now.) All the online tools are in below link:
If you do not receive any Advance Payment during 2021, if qualify, you should be able to claim the child tax credit on your Tax year 2021 tax return during the 2022 filing season.
Hope the above helps!
