What do you mean?

The child tax credit is based on the dependents you entered on your tax return, their ages and if you are eligible to receive the credit.

If the dependent is under the age of 6 then the Child Tax Credit is $3,600.  If the dependent is age 6 to age 17  the child tax credit is $3,000.  If the dependent is age 18 or older there is not a child tax credit but there is a Other Dependent credit of $500.

The child is not being reported as a dependent eligible for the Child Tax Credit OR you have not gone through that section yet.   Child Tax Credit Info

Make sure you have your child entered with a birthdate showing they are under 18 (older children don't qualify).   Make sure they have a SSN entered and the box for valid for employment only is NOT marked (if that box is marked, they don't qualify).   Also, check the amount of time the child lived with you.   A child born in 2021 should be listed as lived with you the WHOLE year.

After checking those things, go through the Child Tax Credit questions in TurboTax.   See link for instructions.  You will need to know the amount of your advance payments if any.
