Child Tax Credit - SOLVED!

Updated - Figured it out. The problem was that our income hadn't been entered yet (was just going through all the deductions while waiting for our W-2s), and you have to have a minimum income to qualify. Once our income was in, we qualified. 🙂

I was going through TurboTax online, and when it was checking if we qualify for the $2,000 per child credit, it asked something like "Were you a bona fide resident of Puerto Rico in 2024?" I clicked NO.  Then it said we do not qualify! I think there might be an error on the Turbotax website because maybe it was supposed to ask if we were a resident of the United States OR Puerto Rico? But it didn't. And the system will not let me go back into that from to edit it or double check it.

We cannot see your screen or your tax return, so we cannot know how you answered the questions.  If you are having a problem with claiming a dependent, sometimes it helps to just go back to MY INFO, delete the dependent and then re-enter them and go through the screens again.
