What tax ID do I enter on the Schedule when adding my Community Investment Tax Credit? The Tax ID for the nonprofit that was awarded the credits and to

  • which I made the donation? The certificate I was sent doesn’t have anything beyond the certificate number.

Can you clarify where in TurboTax it requests the Tax ID?

 

On the screen, Refundable Credits, it prompts you to enter the period end date, certificate number, credit available to you or the certificate balance, reduction in balance for refund, and refundable credit you are taking this year. See screenshot below.

 

Schedule CMS does not require this information for this credit. 

 

However, if you need the Tax ID to the nonprofit you donated to, you can reach out to them directly for this information.
