Claiming brother as a 2021 Dependent, he may have received 3rd stimulus but can I claim it too since he was actually my dependent?

He received stimulus based upon his 2020 filing and it may have given him the 3rd payment which really should have gone to me but the IRS doesnt have a crystal ball to see who is living with who and when.   While doing my taxes it asks how much I actually received and wants to give me his stimulus.  Can I do this?

Yes, you can do it. When TurboTax asks you how much you actually received, enter the amount that you actually received. If you claim your brother as a dependent for 2021 you are entitled to the Recovery Rebate Credit for him, even though he got a stimulus payment himself. That's the way it works.

I want to thank everyone who posted answers especially RJS.  Another  contributor post showed a link to the exact question as addressed by the IRS but I believe the string of posts was removed because the "tax expert" who pretty muchn said it could not have been done was totally wrong.

Sharing the link to where the IRS addresses my question:

If you are claiming them this year then you DO get it now. It is really based on 2021. And they don't have to pay theirs back. The IRS just used 2020 returns to send the checks out fast.
