Colorado Special Funds section- Donation will be deducted from the refund. If no refund, your donation will add to the amount of tax you owe to Colorado. What?

Colorado would love to take your donation first from your refund. If there is no refund, they will bill you in the form of a tax (really a donation) to get the money. It is really the only way they can do it. You, of course, always have the option to donate directly to the charity of your choice on your own.
