purchase computer for my work. how do enter to get the credit

    If you are salary employed, the cost is not deductible on your federal tax return, unless you are a member of a special group, such as disabled individuals or military reserve members. Also, you need to be able to benefit from itemizing your deductions to get a benefit from deducting it. You can enter it in TurboTax as follows as it may be deductible on your state tax return:

    1. Deductions and Credits
    2. Employment Expenses
    3. Job-Related Expenses

    If you are self-employed, you will see an option to enter assets when you enter your business expenses, so you can enter the computer cost there.
