Cost/Basis amount missing on 1099-B. What do I put for date received/acquired by original owner? There are multiple transactions. Guessing I sum the basis amount between?

If there are multiple transactions on your 1099-B that have missing cost bases, you will want to enter these individually. This is important; you will want to get the correct basis for each capital asset sold. You will need to go through your records to track down the cost basis and the date of purchase. Correct basis and purchase dates can save you a LOT of money in tax in the long run.
