You can enter your medical expenses in TurboTax using the instructions below. 

Keep in mind: You can deduct your qualified unreimbursed medical care expenses that exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. And you must itemize your deductions on IRS Schedule A  to deduct your medical expenses instead of taking the Standard Deduction. 

f your itemized deductions are not larger than the standard deduction TurboTax will select the Standard Deduction for you.

To enter your medical expenses, you will:

1. Click on Search at the top right of your TurboTax screen
2. Type "medical expenses" in the search bar
3. Click on the link "jump to medical expenses"
4. Click through the screens and enter your medical expenses on the corresponding screen
5. Answer all follow-up questions
