Deductions

I entered my deductions and Turbo Tax recommends the standard deduction.  However, when comparing to last year it is not adding in my state income taxes paid.  How can I get it to add this?

    It depends.

     

    There is a limit of $10,000 for the itemized deduction for taxes based upon the current tax law.  

     

    If you are over the $10,000 limit, it may be limiting your deduction based upon this.

     

    The state income taxes paid will pull in from your entries in the program, whether it be as part of you withholding on your wages, or estimates paid.
