I am 20 and made & 16,000 last year. I am a full-time student, live on my own and supported myself for 2019. My mom claimed me as a dependent and I didn’t know and tried to claim myself so my taxes were rejected. Can I claim myself?

Yes, you can claim yourself. As your mom did not provide more than 1/2 of your support, she is not allowed to claim you as a dependent and must amend her return

If she prepared her return in TurboTax, please see the following for how she should prepare an amended 2019 return.

How do I amend my 2019 TurboTax Online return?

Once her amended return is processed , you can file your return.  You can prepare an extension until October 15th if needed.  It can take several months to process an amended return.

If she does not amend her return, you will need to mail your return.  You will both probably received notices from the IRS requesting proof of who can claim you. She may be subject to penalties for incorrectly claiming you if she does not amend her return.
