Dependent requirements for Federal Tax and California Tax Returns Differ?

My daughter turned 24 last year and had earned a gross income over $5,050. TurboTax indicated I can no longer claim her as a dependent in my Federal Tax return. However, may I still able to claim some benefits if she is listed as a dependent in my California State Tax return. Is California’s requirement for a qualified dependent differ than those of the Federal Tax return?

When I am in the State Tax section, TurboTax allowed me to enter her as a dependent and it increased my California Tax refund. May I still list her as a dependent?

My daughter lives with us and she received more than half of her financial support from us.

No, California's requirement for a qualified dependent is the same as the federal requirement. You cannot claim her as a California dependent if she does not qualify for federal tax return purposes.
