probably not. qual div show up on page 1 of 1040 and are part of taxable income.  but the tax computation is done on the qualified dividend and capital gain worksheet

hackitoff,

my qualified dividends are listed on line 1040 3a than listed as ordinary dividends on line 3b and totaled into my adjusted gross income (same amount on both lines) and there is no capital gains Schd B worksheet?

so the dividends are being taxed as ordinary income and not capital gains?

neither I nor anyone else on this forum can see your return.  check for worksheet labeled "Qual Div/Cap Gn" or. if possible, scroll down to "Tax Smart Worksheet" in the TT 1040 wks and see If line A4 is checked.  if it's not,  you'll need to contact support to see what the issue may be.   having the dividend amounts show up on 3a and 3b is correct and 3b is included in taxable income.
