Do I need mortgage lenders address, and other info if my special situation includes the seller carrying back the mortgage and this seller being a special needs trust?

    If your situation includes the seller carrying back the mortgage and the seller is a special-needs trust, you don't need the traditional mortgage lender's address for tax reporting.

    Here are the key points::

    • Promissory Note: The financing is typically documented with a promissory note secured by a deed of trust or mortgage on the property.
    • While you do not need the lender's address for tax reporting, you should maintain the seller's contact information, including name and address, for your records.

    For more detailed information, you can refer to the IRS guidelines on  Installment sales,  and the First American Exchange article on seller carry-back financing.
