Do I need to file as self employed if I am a Skin Care Consultant and only made $20 . I do not claim any mileage or other expenses?

No.  An independent contractor is required to file a return if they have net earnings of $400 or more. (Your net earnings are equal to the gross revenue you earned minus all deductible business expenses you incurred.)

If you had other earnings, you do have to report the $20 but you don't have to pay self employment tax.
