Question

Do I need to file CO return? I am AD military with TX residency. I purchased CO home and sold due to PCS move. I made 5k capital gains, under federal rules I'm exempt.

All of your military pay is only taxable in Texas; however, other outside activities like a side job in the community, or a wife having a job are taxable in the state they occur in.  The purchase and sale of your home is an activity that will require you to file taxes in Colorado.
