Question

Do I need to file tax on foreign income that was earned after my U.S. visa has expired? I was a U.S. resident on employment visa in 2019.

What visa were you on?  Did you continue to stay in the US after the visa expired or you left the US for good?

I was on H1-B employment visa. My visa expired in May 2019, so I had to leave the U.S. for good.

Yes, you need to report your foreign income that was earned after your US visa expired.  If you were a U.S. resident in 2019 but are not a U.S. resident during any part of 2020, you cease to be a U.S. resident on your residency termination date. Your residency termination date is December 31, 2019,

You need to file a US resident return reporting all your income for calendar year 2019, no matter where it was earned or where you received it.  You can use foreign tax credit to help offset any double taxation on the income you earned after leaving the US.
