Yes, your insulated garage door qualify for an energy credit.  When you begin working on the credit in the return, it is classified as an exterior door. The tax credit is 10 percent of the cost of materials which meet or exceed the version 6.0 Energy Star program requirements, up to a maximum of $200. Labor and installation costs do not qualify.

Enter the amount you paid for exterior windows, doors, skylights and the amounts for storm windows and doors. Do not include the costs for assembly, preparation, or installation.

To enter, go to federal>deductions and Credits>You and your home>home energy credits.
