Does anyone know why i am being prompted to enter my daycare providers SSN instead of EIN on form 2441?

You can use either one. Some daycare providers do not want to give out their SSN's to people---so they get a Tax ID--also called an EIN. Or if it is a daycare center or daycare business, they will provide you with their EIN.

What do you mean? On both the 2024 TurboTax desktop and Online editions in the section to enter Child and Dependent care expenses you can choose either the EIN or the Social Security number of the provider.
