I donate each month to Habitat, my local Food Bank and to St. Jude's Hospital. Can any of these be used for the credit?

    To enter charitable donations -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
    Click on Deductions and Credits
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
    Scroll down to Charitable Donations
On Donations to Charity in 2024, click on the start or update button

Or enter charitable donation in the Search box located in the upper right of the online program screen. Click on Jump to charitable donation

Yes, you can deduct charitable contributions if you itemize your deductions and donations are made to a qualified charitable organization. If you're not sure whether they are qualified, you can use the IRS Exempt Organizations Lookup Tool.
