Count for what?  The childcare credit?  If you pay Mom to take care of your child so you can work you can claim the childcare credit, and you also have to put Mom's tax ID or SSN on your tax return as your childcare provider.  Mom has to file a tax return that reports that income.

Expenses for child care so you can work are eligible for child care credit.  Your mom would have to include those  payments on her own tax return if she has a requirement to file.

Your mom reports her income differently, depending on whether she babysits in your home or hers.  As others have said, she must report the income, if you claim the child care credit.
