    Per IRS:

If the therapy is treatment for a disease, it is considered medical expense. For example, an amount paid for therapy to treat a diagnosed mental illness is a medical expense, but an amount paid for marital counseling is not.

If you itemize your deductions, you can deduct unreimbursed medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (AGI), found on line 11 of your 2024 Form 1040.
