It can but some issues need to be sorted out.

You received an IRS Form 1042-S because you were still considered as a nonresident for immigration purposes. The form is used to report non-resident alien wages and tax withholdings.

What is your immigration status?  Are you filing as a nonresident alien or are you filing as a resident alien for 2023?

A nonresident alien will file an IRS form 1040NR.  Please contact Sprintax to assist you in preparing a nonresident tax return.

A resident alien will file an IRS form 1040 and report the IRS form 1042-S  income on form 1040.

In either TurboTax Desktop or TurboTax Online, enter '1042-s' in the search magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Select How do I file my 1042-S while being considered a resident for tax purposes for reporting directions.
