Do you have daycare on your W2 from work? Do you have an eligible child? Are there 2 parents both working or students? What message are you seeing? What screen are you stuck on?

See  What is the Child and Dependent Care Credit?

It is not on my  w2 I have a tax statement from the daycare that I have entered every other year. We do have an eligible child  and both work.

when I go to deductions and credits, I click edit with child and other dependent tax credits…

then I click “none of those apply to us” for the next question and it says “congrats you get a tax break” but doesn’t give me an option to enter anything.

You appear to be looking in the wrong spot in the program.

To enter dependent care expense information in TurboTax Online:

  1. Open TurboTax Online
  2. Select Tax Home in the left pane
  3. On the Hi, let's keep working on your taxes! screen, select the dropdown on the right side of the Deductions & Credits box, then select Start, Continue, or Pick up where you left off
  4. On the Your tax breaks page, scroll down and select the dropdown to the right of You and Your Family
  5. Select Start or Revisit to the right of Dependent Care Credit
  6. Answer Yes on the Did you pay for child and dependent care in 2023? page
  7. Provide all relevant information requested in the interview

The Child and Dependent Care Credit helps working families who pay expenses for the care of children, adult dependents or a disabled spouse.
