If I didn’t keep any expense records for mileage etc, can I bypass expenses and still efile on turbo tax and just take the tax hit?

Yes, if you do not have any records of your expenses, then you can bypass expenses and still e-file on TurboTax.  However, check with DoorDash as they do track your location and mileage so they may be able to provide that information to you.

Remember, your income from DoorDash is considered Self-employment income is is subject to SE Taxes which are 15.3% for Social Security and Medicare so taking the tax hit can hurt slightly more when you are self-employed. You should also be making quarterly payments on this income. If you did not pay SE Taxes in 2024, and if you plan to do this again in 2025, it may be a good idea to make  quarterly estimated payments to cover your SE taxes of 15.3% and avoid penalties.
